Branding a very powerful tool, but do we really understand the importance of branding? According to Wikipedia brand is a name, logo, slogan, and/or design scheme associated with a product or service and branding is the act of imprinting or engraving a brand name or symbol onto a product. Why is branding is important and how does it promote a product? Is it at all related to a logo? Let’s take a deep look at branding and logo.

What is branding?

When unique names and images for a products are created in the consumers’ mind, mostly through advertising campaigns with a constant theme, it is known a s branding. Branding mainly tries to establish a significant and differentiated presence in the market that attracts and retains sustainable customers.Example of some popular brands.

Now, when you look at these popular brands you see everyone with a specific and unique symbol. This is versatile and can’t be repeated. Thus, a brand is formed with the help of a logo!

What is a logo?

A logo is a graphic mark, emblem, or symbol commonly used by commercial enterprises, organizations and even individuals to aid and promote instant public recognition. Logos are either purely graphic (symbols/icons) or are composed of the name of the organization. Now, when you see these logos, do I need to state the brand, I don’t, right? A logo represents a product more than its name does. It becomes a trend. For example, it’s a trend to update a picture with a Starbucks coffee. It’s a trend to show the logo of your Iphone.

Now that we know the definition of a brand and a logo, what is the connection between them and yet how’re they different?

A logo can’t seize a brand and a brand can’t exist strong without a logo to represent it. The work for each other simultaneously! A logo comes before a brand, to put it in one short sentence. Without a log you can’t establish or promote to make it a brand.
